Online counselling is increasingly popular for those who cannot make face to face, in person, counselling sessions. I use both Whatsapp video and Skype, for this.
The beauty of this approach is that you are able to see me and attend sessions from the comfort of your own home, or quiet place at work, and you can talk to me from anywhere in the world. Although you may be thousands of miles away or just around the corner, it can seem almost as though you are in the same room. Obviously, you need a good roaming signal or decent wifi. You also need to ensure a quiet private space to talk. You pay on line at least 24 hours before the session.
I personally do not provide online counselling to any person who is under the age of 18. However, I may be able to recommend counsellors and psychotherapists who do.
There are lots of reasons clients opt for online video counselling. These include: it now being normal to chat by video; being unable to get to the therapy room; wanting counselling outside of your area; frequently travelling with business; wanting to reconvene or restart having moved away after previous counselling with me; wanting video sessions first before meeting face to face; and preferring a degree of separation.
It works the same way as face to face counselling and psychotherapy. Get in touch to arrange a good time for a first session. Pay online 24 hours or more before the session. Benefit from a full meaning session. If you wish to continue with further sessions, then they generally occur at the same agree time and day each week. However, there is some flexibility for those who work irregular hours.
